§ 70.02. LOAD LIMITS.

  • (A) Load limits are hereby established for all roads in the town unless otherwise provided:
    (1) January 1 through April 30:
    (a) Single axle trucks - 6 tons net weight
    (b) Tandem axle trucks - 15 tons net weight
    (2) May 1 through December 31 of each year:
    (a) Single axle trucks - 8 tons net weight
    (b) Tandem axle trucks - 20 tons net weight
    (B) No trucks with the exception of pick-up trucks which have a gross weight of less than two tons, shall be permitted to drive upon Fleming Drive which crosses Northwest Lake Dam, between Northwest Lake and East Lake, provided that motor vehicles belonging to the town which have a gross weight in excess of two tons may cross Northwest Lake Darn on Fleming Drive for the purpose of making repairs, providing maintenance and performing snow removal upon the road.
    (C) The owner or operator of any truck making deliveries within the town which has a gross weight in excess of the weight limits as specified in division (A) above may apply to the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer for a special permit in order to make said deliveries, road conditions permitting.
    (D) The speed limit for trucks with the special permit as provided for in division (C) above when driving on the roads which cross North Lake Dam, Northeast Lake Dam, White Lake Dam, Carolyn-Hants Lake Dam and Donald Lake Dam, will be ten miles per hour. Under no circumstances shall any truck with a special permit as provided for in division (C) hereof drive on Fleming Drive across Northwest Lake Dam.
